New look web office update, and some other exciting news
The documents page will be cleaner with a more simplified look, something like this,
but the design may change slightly during implementation.
You might have seen our blog post earlier in the month that talked about the new look for the web office?
Well, we'd like to announce that the work is all going to plan and we're really excited to say that the designers and developers have made fantastic progress. Although the functionality will stay the same – don't worry you won't have to hunt around to find a regularly used feature – it's going to be a much more pleasurable experience to use the new interface. I know I can't wait.
Not only that....
Our most requested feature on our feature request forum, and the one that has required a huge amount of development time is optimising the web office for use in Chrome and Safari… well, that's coming soon too!
Can you believe it? Two huge pieces of development in such a short space of time.
Won't it be a relief, if Chrome is your preferred browser, not to have to nip back into Firefox because you want to edit an article without using the dreaded html? Well, if you're not technical like me it will be a relief.
The other good thing is that since Safari is the browser used on the iPad you'll be able to edit documents without even turning your PC on, now that's what I call a result!
There is a release coming before either of these exciting things, next week in fact, so watch this space. We'll let you know what bugs we've fixed and what features we've added right here. So don't forget to subscribe to get the updates by filling in your email address in the column on the right.
You can keep up with ChurchInsight blog posts by getting the RSS feed, or by requesting email updates in the right hand column. Let us know what you think of the redesign on Facebook or on Twitter.
